Professional Spray Painting, Acrylic Mural & Stencil Design Class for Beginners

Instructor: Brian Weaver

Duration: 4 Weeks – One 2.5-hour session per week

Dates: Thursdays — Dates coming soon, Please contact us.

Time: 5:30 PM – 8:00 PM

Cost: $400 per student (All materials included, except acrylic paints & brushes)

Class Size: Limited to 6 students

Location: Private residence & art studio (10 minutes from Downtown Fort Myers)

 

*The final class will be held on Saturday due to Thanksgiving. It will include a small celebration with certificate presentations and a mural review.

About the Class

​

Step into the world of professional mural-making with this immersive beginner’s course taught by renowned artist Brian Weaver. Hosted in his private home and studio, students will learn the foundations of spray painting, acrylic blending, stencil design, and large-scale mural execution — all while creating a completed mural on a portable 4ft x 4ft wall to take home.

 

This isn’t just a class — it’s an art experience. Tour Brian’s home, explore his working studios, and get a behind-the-scenes look at his current creative projects. Snacks and drinks will be provided each session to keep the energy and vibes just right.

 

Homework will be assigned each week to help reinforce skills and prepare you for the next class.

Curriculum Overview

 

 

Week 1 — Organizing & Designing Your Painting

• Free-flow techniques with spray paint and acrylics

• Conceptual planning and layout

• Color theory, matching, and composition basics

​

Week 2 — Can Control, Cap Techniques & Stencil Design

• Managing pressure, distance, and spray angles

• Using cap sets for different effects (thin to wide)

• Misting, shading, layering, and clean lines

• Designing & cutting stencils

• Using cardboard and spray glue for added texture

​

Week 3 — Create & Let Flow

• Applying stencils with spray paint and acrylics

• Blending mediums for depth and texture

• Bringing your layout to life

 

Week 4 — Final Project & Celebration (Saturday, Nov. 29)

• Completing your 4ft x 4ft mural with full guidance

• Group review and one-on-one feedback

• Certificate presentation & mural showcase celebration

Materials

​

Provided for You:

• Montana Gold spray paints: white, black, and two shades of your chosen color (one light, one dark — ordered after program acceptance)

• Full spray cap set

• Stencil paper & cardboard

• Spray glue

• One 4ft x 4ft portable mural wall

• All stencil-making materials

• Snacks & drinks each session

You Must Bring:

• Your own set of acrylic paints

• Your own paintbrushes

Graduates receive a Certificate of Completion from Artsemble Underground recognizing their achievement in Spray Paint, Acrylic Mural, and Stencil Art Foundations.

• All applicants must submit artwork for consideration prior to selection.

• 50% non-refundable deposit required to hold your spot and cover materials; remaining balance due on Day 1.

• Students who do not complete payment cannot attend.
